Funktionærmessen Restaurant A classic kitchen with a French inspired a la carte menu. This is Longyearbyen’s historic dining place where the mining company’s blue collar workers used to eat. The tables are dressed in a classic style and the quality is high making this the best restaurant in Longyearbyen. It holds an award for best service among 750 restaurants in Norway. The wine chart boasts more than 100 different types of wine and the restaurant has a wine cellar with some good vintage. In this historic setting you can enjoy the panoramic view of Longyearbyen. After dinner you can retreat to our comfortable bar with Chesterfield furniture and a burning log fire. We also have a "chambre separé" for special occasions. This can seat up to 50 people. The restaurant was opened in connection with the extension of Spitsbergen Hotel in 2000. It has 120 seats and can facilitate up to 145 people banqueting style.
